*Kayden shook his head as the girls headed off inside.* "That point when the girls can't do anything without you. Either that or they expect you do do as they do. Sometimes I can't figure that one out."

"They're pack hunters, plain and simple," J'gata laughed and patted Kayden's shoulder, then he and his brother started cleaning up the dishes to wash them.

"Believe me. I learned that pretty quick after all this got started. Hopefully you two don't get caught up in that." *He laughed a bit as he headed on back to the house. He didn't need to take too long less they start wondering what was taking so long.*

Erith curled up with Lianna in the upstairs bedroom, tomorrow would be a big day of getting the plots of land ready for flooding and making rice paddies.

*Kayden moved to the master bedroom, entering to see the girls already on their way out. He stood there for a few moments watching before heading to the shower to clean up. He let his mind run blank as he cleaned himself under the hot water. It was only about fifteen minutes before he was finished and joined the women in bed.*

The togorian brothers were out by the river with equipment and starting to redirect the aqueducts to get them in a spot to flood the field to plant the rice. They had been out since five in the morning before the heat of the sun.

*Kayden was up early, knowing work needed to be done. Somewhere deep inside, the life he once’s lived was settling back in in nearly every regard. Slipping out from the sleeping women, he dressed himself and headed out into the fields, already seeing the brothers at work.* "Right back to work, right?"

"Wanted to get started before the breakfast rush, we already cooked all the food for the morning. The tables and warmers are all set. Once they eat they'll start filing out to help work. Pretty sure Erith and Lianna will make sure they don't crawl back into their beds. I hope you're rested. Today will be a full day," J'gata grunted as he slammed the pick into the dirt.

"Can’t just sit around and do nothing. Besides, the girls got their day. Can’t have too many otherwise they’ll get lazy. Sure, we could just have machines do everything, but then what. A full day will make the day go by faster."

"There are some things that require a human's touch, machines will be needed though, especially once we hit rock," J'gata noted.

*Kayden merely shrugged.* "I would actually disagree. But considering we are on a time table and need to cover a lot of ground, the machines re more effective and efficient."

They both laughed, "Our first day of the rest of our lives eh?" J'gata patted Kayden's back. An hour went by and the girls started filing in. They were in their work clothes ready to get muddy and and calloused. Erith showed up and Lianna behind her, they both grabbed shovels and helped out.

*Kayden watched as the women began to show, ready to get back to work after they're day off. It was when Erith and Lianna showed up and began working that he tilted his head out of curiosity. He was not too concerned about Erith working, knowing that pregnant women could still work into later parts of their pregnancy. It was his curiousity oer Lianna letting her work as she had showed herself to be more strict with Erith.*

Lianna gave Kayden a knowing, and salty look as she shoveled away. She knew what he was thinking. The only answer she had for him was a shake of his head and mouthing 'i tried' to him with silence. Erith had been stubborn and wanted to see her project through. Repurposing a section of the farm would be no easy task. They would have to use machines, but once the first fields were sewn they could go back next season and do it all by hand with a bit more care. Lianna did however stay by Erith's side, but did not coddle her, lest she wanted to be socked again. Lianna was glad Kayden and the boys came out early, he missed the shitshow at home.

*Kayden couldn’t help but laugh a little at Lianna’s expression. He wondered how much of a fight she gave the woman. Something he would like to see. They could all do will a little amusement now and then.

But he said nothing as he went about helping with the work.

"All right ladies, we're making aqueducts and irrigation ditches from scratch, but we have engineers here, Sarah, I'm looking at you, and you too Amy!" Erith shouted to get everyone's attention before showing a 3d map of the whole farm, and where the river was in conjunction with the farm.

"We already have irrigation up and running, we just need to channel the water so we can let this section of field flood and we can make our rice paddies. This will probably take at least a week or two to complete, so let's get on it. We want to make sure that these channels can be flooded and drained at our leisure. We'll make four paddies and dig the channels to retain and keep the water where we want it to go. I'll upload it all to your wrist pads so you can have an easy reference for it all. Let's get to work!" She clanged her shovel into the ground.

*Kayden leaned on his shovel as Erith spoke, seeing the side of her that led a legion of these women. Even when all was said and done, the experience was just as valuable in a life like this. It also helped that all those around her responded in the same way. It made things move simply and smoothly. Once she finished, Kayden flung his shovel over his shoulder and went off to begin work.

Erith dug where she could, and gave input to those with engineering expertise. She truly did not exert herself much other than to make sure people didn't gouge themselves with a shovel or a pick. She directed the machines, and listened to those that knew just a little more than she did about building things. She was a legion commander once because she listened, and cared about those under her. Not because she simply bulldozed ahead. Though she certainly reamed Lianna for trying to keep her away from her project while pregnant. She looked to Kayden with a proud smile, much like she used to give him when she was fully geared and packing.

*Kayden shook his head with a smirk at Erith's smile. She certainly was strong-willed as well as physically strong. Few would have the ability to go like she did and maintain the proper order on the farm as if she was still leading the Sisters in battle.*

A full days work had been put in before long. The canals had been dug. Erith and the other sisters were covered in dirt and mud from the day, and several took on too much sun. Yet it was a good day on the farm. Erith wiped her brow after setting her pick down and whistled to the crew, "get showered and lets have a good dinner tonight." The girls cheered and put their tools away before heading back to their state house.

Lianna dusted her hands off, but she was covered in mud and dust from the day, it felt good to toughen her skin up again after being in retirement.

Later that evening when all was quiet, Erith stirred from sleep. She did not know if it was the baby, or if it was anticipation of tomorrow, but she found herself restless. She slipped out of the bedroom and headed downstairs to make herself a cup of hot water and lemon. It was still too early for anything that could keep her awake. She sat down in one of the chairs in the den and rubbed her baby bump as she contemplated what she would do in the morning. The whole project she figured would take weeks, maybe even months before it was done.

*Kayden had returned with the women after they had finished the work, but when Erith awoke, she might have noticed that Kayden was gone. Shortly after Erith and Lianna had fallen asleep, Kayden had left and went out deeper into the fields, near the perimeter so not to disrupt the animals or th Sisters while he went through his training. It didn't matter the reason, he would be strong enough to defend the farm. Be it from another invasion, or just bandits or a pack of Kinrath, he would be ready for any of them.*

Erith found her eyes drooping, but she put the final touches on the plans for tomorrow, or most likely in the morning. She imagined it was at least three in the morning. She looked over the map of the property again, and made notes of what was done today, and what needed to be done tomorrow. Erith had a picture in her mind of what she wanted it all to look like and how it was to function. Never had she thought she would be a farmer, nor harboring a man's child within her belly. She also could not help sizing up that sith, or man on the cat. Whatever or whoever he was, he too was not happy she showed defiance. She hoped she'd never see him except after harvest. She had also remembered that Kayden was not in bed when she woke up. She figured he was out training or meditating. Or dreading fatherhood, and the thought made her giggle a bit.

At first light the Togorian brothers were at it making breakfast for the whole lot of sisters. Work continued throughout the day. The sisters sang songs as they worked, it sounded like a seranade of sirens. There was laughter and giggling at times. Erith walked among them as they worked to pour concrete for the waterways and canals. She did step out of the way as a clod of mud zipped by her and smacked another sister right in the back. Erith whistled and glared at them, "no horseplay, we don't want anyone injured."

They all went back to to work, but started singing some songs as they worked, hymns of battle and triumph in the mother's name. It was a harmony of determination and comradery. Erith smiled and directed the machinery to start pouring the concrete to build the extra aqueducts from the river nearby.

As the months dragged on and the construction project moved along mostly on schedule, Erith continued to bark orders as her baby bump grew. After awhile she was unable to help at all besides direct as she walked with a gait.

*Kayden worked hard, picking up more and more slack each day as he figured out how Erith wanted things done. Everything he could do with the Force, he did to save time though he didn't let it hinder quality. With Erith becoming more and more unable to do much, he worked with her during the nights to understand the plans of what would happen the next day alongside Lianna to take up the slack. It wouldn't be long before she'd be incapacitated completely. Someone would have to take the reigns in the short span she was out. The question was who? Sure, he was the father, but Lianna was also a woman who understood things much better than he did when it came to pregnacy. Time would tell.

During the night, he continued to either train or patrol for a few hours, always making sure everyone in the farm was safe.
